Part-Time Internship

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A PART-TIME INTERN?

The part-time program at Elevate Leadership Institute allows students to attend on certain days of the week, while still being immersed in the culture at Elevate Life. Interns in this program will serve alongside full-time interns weekly and have similar opportunities, but they are not required to fulfill the complete schedule required for full-time interns. Part-time interns are given the opportunity to gain hands on ministry and leadership experience and can receive an accredited Associate Degree in Leadership at the end of two years. Due to the fact that the part-time program structure requires less hours per week, it will take longer for students to achieve an accredited degree. There is a specific degree plan that must still be followed, which enables students to earn degrees. If the student is not able to complete 2 full years in the program, they are able to earn a Certificate of Learning in Leadership and Ministry upon the completion of one full year in the program.

OPPORTUNITIES

There are many opportunities that part-time interns can take part in and choose to attend. Although some of these will already be a requirement, anything that is additional that they can participate in is beneficial and will have a great impact on a student’s process while attending ELI:

  • Students Service (Sunday Nights) – One of these is required (one time per week)
  • YA Service (Tuesday Nights) – One of these is required (one time per week)
  • Conferences (Once a year) – additional fundraising possibly required
  • 1 Mission Trip (2nd year) – additional fundraising required
  • Gauntlets (Random times during the trimester) – not all gauntlets are mandatory

REQUIRED EVENTS

  • Attend all required classes and intern time on scheduled days of attendance.
  • Attend 9am service at ELC on Sundays.
  • Serve at all major ELC events that take place within the trimester.
  • Choose one Young Adults or Students service to serve and attend each week.
  • Serve at Facilities/Outreach days. (Dates are communicated before a trimester begins)
  • Work out 3 times a week by attending scheduled gym times with full time interns OR during personal time within a week.

GYM

  • Students will receive a 2-year gym membership at a discounted cost.
  • They must work out during the trimester 3 times a week.
  • This can be at the scheduled ELI gym time or on their own time during the week.
  • Gym Trackers will be required each week.

DATING

  • Part-time interns cannot date other interns or staff members at any time, while attending the program.

  • When an intern is dating someone or wants to, they must follow a leadership process.

  • This may be new for most individuals, but it is meant to help you to learn to lead yourself relationally.

  • There is a leadership process as well as a disciplinary process if the process is not followed.

HONOR CODE

  • Interns are expected to uphold the standards in the Honor Pledge as well as all that is listed in the Student Code of Conduct while attending ELI.

  • They must agree to this process and be honest to be an eligible student enrolled in the internship.

  • There is a leadership process as well as a disciplinary process if the agreement is not followed.
